On this post i will review one of the most challenging game that was released on this year. The game is titled “Darkest Dungeon”. It was released on 29th January 2016 but the developer still released patch and improvement to this game. For more detailed review, you can click on the link below.

I’ll review a little bit about Darkest Dungeon, it’s turn-based dungeon crawl RPG, with dungeon&dragon-like elements and focussing on the psychological stresses of adventuring developed by Red Hook Studios, the premise already so promising and seems challenging. Especially for those who like D&D-esque type of adventure, you should try this game. The art of the game is unique and totally matched with the game type and the background music. The complexity of the game keeps increasing on every update and that’s why this game is so intriguing.

The fight is turn-based.

We will take over a band of mercenary that need to explore the dungeon to leveling, finishing the task and continue the story. You will pick 4 characters from your own pool then started the adventure. Seems simple? No, you are wrong! You need to pick a good combination from 14 heroes type, not just that, there is also a different trait for every hero, it can be an advantage, but it can be a disadvantage too and to make it more challenging, there is perma-death system, so once your character died in the dungeon, then it’s gone forever. The in-game narration also increased the tension, simply perfect. Other than skills and jobs, you also need to take care of the stress and the health of the heroes.

The heroes is on camping mode in Dungeon. It is needed to avoid over-stressed heroes.

I’ve played this game for some time, and when i thought my heroes already on safe tier, suddenly something bad happened and my highest level Vestal (Support character) and Crusader (Tank character) just died like that, it frustated me and i stopped playing for a while.

Yes, they are gone, FOREVER!

If you are a hardcore gamer, i’m sure you will like this game. You can check their page on Steam here,  it is 169,000 rupiah for the base game and 60,299 rupiah for the soundtrack, or you can buy the package for 199,999 rupiah. But you can be happy, because it’s currently on sale with 33% discount so it became 113,899 rupiahs for the base game and 133,999 rupiah for the package.
